First CDM project in China
Carbon Resource Management’s staff worked in
conjunction with the Chinese Renewable Energy Industries Association (CREIA) to
prepare the baseline study, Project Design Document (PDD) and a business plan for
China’s first CDM project. The 25.8MW wind power project at Huitengxile will
result in emission reductions of approximately 500,000 tCO2 in Inner
Mongolia, China, where windfarm projects can only compete with cheap large scale
coal-fired power generation by obtaining additional income via the CDM. The Certified
Emission Reductions (CERs) from the project have been sold to the Dutch government.^ Top
First wind power project in the world to be registered under the CDM
The Huitengxile project was the first windfarm in
the world to be registered as a Clean Development Mechanism project. The project
involved the installation of 22 wind turbines in Inner Mongolia, China. Carbon Resource
Management's staff prepared the documentation needed for the project to obtain CDM
funding. The CRM team has subsequently gone on to prepare the CDM documentation
for over 40 other windfarms.^ Top
First coal mine methane (CMM) CDM project in the World to be issued CERs
Carbon Resource Management is developing several
Coal Mine Methane (CMM) CDM projects,
the first of which has been issued CERs.
Most Coal Mine Methane, which is released
whenever coal is mined, is not currently captured and utilised, but is vented into
the atmosphere. Not only is this a waste of a potentially valuable energy resource,
but as methane has a high global warming potential, significant CDM funding can
be obtained for schemes which destroy or utilise the methane.^

Currently Working on over 100 CDM projects
The Carbon Resource Management team has a proven
track record in taking projects from their initial concept stage to obtaining funding
following the sale of emission reduction certificates. Our team have prepared Project
Design Documents for over 100 projects. In particular, we have expert knowledge of
how to demonstrate additionality to enable projects to be eligible for carbon credits,
along with proven experience with guiding projects through all of the carbon cycle
stages, from obtaining host government approval, to preparation of the monitoring
reports needed to obtain the carbon certificates.^ Top
Strong and Respected Presence in London, Geneva and China
Presently, CRM has offices in London, Geneva and China.
A team of 18 CDM experts are based in our Beijing office. Qian Yiwen, CRM's Chief Representative in China, is well connected within
Chinese CDM circles and her team is highly respected by the developers with whom
they have worked.^ Top
Deep knowledge and experience in creating innovative solutions for new markets
CRM works with its clients
to create innovative solutions to extract value from the carbon market. For example,
the CRM team were the first to develop the concept and then began working on the
methodology to enable coal mine methane projects to be eligible under the Clean
Development Mechanism.^ Top
