CRM receives approval for 12 projects

Twelve of Carbon Resource Management's projects have been given approval by the Chinese DNA, the Office of National Coordination Committee on Climate Change. The projects include three biomass projects, seven windfarms, a hydropower scheme and a coal mine methane project and will result in the issuance of over 7 million CERs to 2012.

Letters of Approval received for Chifeng windpower projects

The Chinese Designated National Authority, NC4, has issued Letters of Approval for two windfarms at Saihanba near Chifeng City, in Inner Mongolia. Carbon Resource Management is buying the CERs and preparing all of the documentation required to enable the projects to be registered under the Clean Development Mechanism. The projects will lead to carbon emission reductions of over 1.25 million tonnes from electricity generation on the Northeast China Power Grid between 2007 and 2012.

Saihanba wind power projects registered

CRM's Saihanba East and Saihanba North windpower projects have been registered as CDM projects. The 45MW windfarms situated in Inner Mongolia are now supplying electricity to China's Northeast Power Grid, with each windfarm expected to generate over 100 GWh per year and lead to emission reductions in the region of 100,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide per annum.^ Top

CRM buys lCERs from afforestation project

Carbon Resource Management has signed up to purchase long-term Certified Emission Reductions (lCERs) from an afforestation project in the Shibi Mountains of Shanxi Province, China. CRM is one of the first organisations that has signed an agreement to purchase lCERs, which can be used in place of CERs to meet obligations under the Kyoto Protocol. The project forms part of an important watershed management programme in Shanxi Province.^ Top
